MOTOR-CYCLIST BADLY HURT.
Sitting on hi» motor-cycle ill Ferry road last evening, ,]pefcival Fox, of 77 Badley street, Woolston, was struck by a . passing 'motorcycle, landj thrown heavily to the ground, . Fox, a , married man agejl : 34, had stopped his machine,, and aftfer drawing into the 'side of ' the road, had Remained seated on it. He* was hit (i glancing blow by the other motor-cycle, and was knocked unconscious.'Conveyed to the Christchilrch Hospital' at 7.40 p.m. he was found to r be suffering 'from a compound fracture of the left leg, and otter injuries which, couldnot at first be ascertained. After admittance he partly recovered consciousness, but it was found- necessary to amputate his leg. The operation was performed satisfactorily. .
