MINIATURE RIFLE CLUBS.
SEDGEMERE-LAKESIDE. The annual meeting of the SodgemereLakeside Miniature Rifle Club was held in the Sedgemere Ilall, Mr J. T. Parkin presiding. * The balance-sheet showed that the credit balance had increased from £l3 (is ad to £l4 2s on last year's working. A profit of £24 Us 6d had been realised on tne series of socials. The president moved the adoption of the statement, and reported that tne club had been successful in one of the shield competitions last season. This year it was hoped to enrol a number of young shooters to take the places of some of the older members who tvere leaving. The motion was carried. The election of officers resulted:—Patrons, Hon. Sir R. Heaton Rhodes, M.L.C., and Mr D. Jones, M.P.; president, Mr J. T. Parkin; senior vice-president, Mr H. R. McLaughlan; vice-presidents, Messrs T. C. McLachlan, F. Alexander, G. Nairn, F. L. Graham, R. L. Cant, W. Winchester, A. McLaughlin, R. Bruce, I. McGill, A. McPherson, W. Ludemann, J. P. McEvedy, J., Anderson, A. B. McEvedy, B. R. Howson, W. Lochhead, i&. S. Manson, W. Collins, J. Chambers; joint secretaries, Messrs N. Alexander, and H. R. McLaughlan; auditor, Mr J. H.' McMillan; executive, the president, captain, vice-captain, and secretaries; handicappers, Messrs W. Collins, and J. Vince; selectors, Messrs W. Collins, S. Vince, and H. R. McLaughlan; official checkers, Messrs R. L. .Cant and F. Alexander; delegates to Association, the president and Messrs H. R. McLaughlan and F. Alexander. The opening of the season was fixed for Friday evening, April 11th. A resolution was passed recording appreciation of the services of Mr A. E. Amyes, who resigned from office. Mr Collins proposed that a comprehensive nomination fee should be imposed to cover all trophy shoots for the season, instead of making a separate charge for each night. In place of .handicapping on one r0 "" 4 he suggested that shooters should be handi capped on the three rounds together, m order to hasten the completion of matches. It was agreed that the manner of paying nomination fees should be optional. After discusing the method of handicapping the meeting did not consider it desirable to adopt Mr Collins's proposal, but resolved that an endeavour should be made to have the shooting completed at an earlier hour "taJUS«" ««»?, r;;.rr for attention. It was apreed that the hold ing of hare drives should be kept in'view. A vote of thanks Was passed to those who had donated trophies last season.
