WEDDINGS.

ALEXANDRE—REAY. Ah evening wedding toot place at St. Mark's Church, Marshland, recently, when Ellice, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Reay, of Hawkins road, Marshland, was married to Horace* eldest son of Mr and Mrs E. Alexandre, of Shirley. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Canon W. S. Bean, of St. Mary's Church, Addington, and the organist was Miss Phyllis Webb, of Hare wood. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a frock of maize silk lace over georgette, and her veil of tulle and lace to tone, arranged to form a train, fell from a circlet of gold leaves. She carried a bouquet of golden lilies, apricot roses, and maidenhair fern. She was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Vina Jack, wearing a frock of lemon georgette and silk lace, with a lime felt hat and Bhoes, and Miss Nancy Colquhoun, wearing a pale green lace frock with hat and shoes to match. Both bridesmaids carried bouquets of flame-coloured begonia and roses. Mr Dudley Alexandre attended his brother as best man, and Mr Walter Mitchell was groomsman. After the ceremony a reception and dance were held in the Marshland Hall. The music was supplied by Miss Moore's orchestra. The bride travelled in a navy tailored costume, grey felt hat, and handsome fox fur, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr and Mrs Alexandre are spending their honeymoon in Rotorua and Auckland.

PENDALTON SCHOOL FETE. A feature of the Fendalton School fete was the pleasing display- of fancy costumes in the competitions held among the school children.
