FALSE STATEMENTS.
I.PP.«SS ASSOCIATION TILZOaAM.) MASTERTON, February 24. In the Magistrate's Court to-day Athol Buckley and two women, whose names were suppressed, were charged with perjury in connexion with a fatal motor collision in October, in which Mrs Emma Smith lost her life. _ The case against Buckley was adjourned till Friday. The two women pleaded guilty to having made false statements at the. inquest concerning the number of passengers in the car driven by Buckley, and were committed to the Masterton Supreme Court for sentence.
