Thomas who retired from the directorate cf the Ashburton Permanent Building and Investment Society by rotation were nominated to fill the vacancies yesterday. Garden Competition. The results of the garden competition conducted by the Advance Ashburton Association are as follows: Mrs Easterbrook, 180 points, 1; Mrs T. A. Smith, 175 points, 2; Mr E. Buchanan, 162 points, 3; Mr J. S. Clarke, 152 points, 4; Mr A. Drayton, and Mr G. fi. Williams. 146 points (equal) 5. Pigs and Poultry. The prices ruling for pigs and poultry at the Farmers' auction mart yesterday were as follows: Poultry—Roosters up to 5s 2d per pair, hens 2s Id to 3s 4d, ducks 5s Id. Pigs—Weaners 20s to 325, stores 37s 6d. loyal Ashburton Lodge. The Loyal Ashburton Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., met on Thursday evening, the N.G., Bro. D. Moodie. presiding. The district secretary notified that the District Conference would be held on March 15th. It was decided to nominate P.G.'s Bros. J. S. Donaldson and T. G. Hardy for the District Management Committee. Four candidates were elected, one proposed, and four initiated.
