IN Pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in tluit behalf by the Local liodies Loans Act, 1926, and the sanction of the Local Government Loans Board dated December 2Urd, 1929, the Kaiapoi Borough Council proposes to raise a Special Loan of ibliOO for the purpose of concrete paving of Main Highway through the Borough of Kniapoi The particular purposes for -which the loan is required are as follows: & * Concrete paving of road . . 2527 0 Alterations to Main Traffic Bridge .. 203 0 0 Poll expenses, advertising, printing, etc. . . . . 100 0 0 Contingencies and sundries .. 170 0 0 £3OOO 0 0 The proposed Security for the above Loan is » Special Rate of 15-U4ths of a penny in the £ on the rateable (capital) value of o'l th« rateable property in the Borough of Kaiapoi, and such Rate shall be an annually recurring Ratr during the currency of such Loan being a period of 20 years or until the Lon-n is fully paid off. NOTICE if hereby given that a Poll of ratepayers of the Borough will be taken on THURSDAY, the 27th day of February, 1930, on a proposal to raise s loan of £3OOO for the purpose of concrete paving of the Main Highway through the Borough, and alterations to the Main Traffic Bridge, as advertised in "The Press" newspaper of the 24th and 31st January, and the 7th and 14th February, 1930. BY* Order-ln-Council, made and issued by hjs Excellency the Governor-General in Council on the 4th day of November, 1029, under the authority of the above Aot, it was determined that the duty by way of special land tax leviable under the said Act should be paid in one sum on Friday, the 28th day of February, 1930, at the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, Government Buildings, Wellington; and, in accordance with such Order-in-Councll, I hereby give notice that the said duty will be payable accordingly. Additional tax will accrue if the tax is not paid on or before 21st March, 1930. The liability to pay )s not suspended by any objection. The tax should be paid on or before the prescribed date, otherwise the additional percentage accrues: any overpayment will be adjusted by refund The demands will be posted from the office of the Commssioner of Taxes on or about 21st February, 1930.
