NEW OPERA HOUSE.
JIM GERALD'S REVUE. big new show to night. To-night at the New Opera House -will see the commencement of the final -week ot Jim Gerald and his popular Revue Company, and they are putting on one of their best shows for the last. A sparkling musical comedy production, "The Honeymoon Girl." Jim Gerald has presented rattling good revue shows during his season here, but "The Honeymoon Girl" is said to be one better. Better because it is genuine musical f-ome/dy the inusic bright, melodious, and eatcliy and the comedy clever anil really witty. In describing the opening performance of "The Honeymoon Girl" at Adelaide, the leading theatrical critic writes: "'The Honeymoon Girl,' a snappy musical come'dy, proved a decided novelty at the Majestic Theatre on Saturday. It served to demonstrate the strength of Jim Gerald's Revue Company in big musical comedy productions. In most musical comedies the plot is a secondary consideration, but in 'The Honeymoon Girl' there is a logical story and a wealth of comedy and incidents. There is no time for anyone to be dull, either on the stage or off it. Jim Gerald himself, as Humps, the boots, lias created a character that is unique. Anyway, Mumpg is like no other boots on land or sea. The music of the piece is exceptionally good, and there is a haunting swing all through the show. The settings and frockings throughout are worth a word of praise, and a novel feature in the way of lighting effects is presented."
