BROADSIDING.
SENSATIONAL RACING. Threa Australian riders appear at the local Speedway on Saturday. W. Sticpewich, who is under contract here, will meet "Skid'' Perkins and Frank Benish. The reappearance of Benish in races will be much appreciated by the crowd, and now that he is lit again after a twelve weeks' epell on account of a broken , leg, he is keen to make a nafaie for himself. Even when his leg was bound up in plaster two weeks ago he broke the one-lap record for the track and showed splendid form. This will be his firet. appearances in races since his accident, and patrons of the Speedway will wish him well. "Skid" Perkins is a favourite here. He first lowered S.ticpewich's original record from lmin 31sec to lmin SOsec. Then the track was relaid and Sticpewich exit the time down to lmin 25 l-ssec, followed by Frank Pearce last week, whose time was lmin 2osec. The match races between these Australians should be a treat to watch. Banish will probably meet one of the local boys in a match race. W. Sticpewich now hija his motor in good order and v.-ill give his usual brilliant exhibition of racing. He has a large following and is one of the , most popular riders on the track. An_ innovation this week will be a first division handicap. Previously the programme opened with an open handicap, but this week the big race is limited to A gTado riders. This will tend to shorten the programme and will allow patrons more time in which to got home at a more reasonable hour. The visiting pilots competing at the Air Pageant will he the guests of the management, and the meeting is designed to be a real pageant of speed.
