UNEMPLOYMENT.
tO THE EDITOR OF THE PIIESS. fir,—l bog space in your valued (glomus to agree with the views of "Breadwinners First." Unemployment •as scarcely heard of before the women tetk the men's work—as they have tiktß his smokes and drinks. I read in today's i-sue of Tub Press that New Zealand is spending on education. Is this money "being spent to boys and girls in such a way as t# decrease unemployment, or to add to ft! I consider that there are too many free plaees in secondary schools given to girls, who only go there to fill in timo—and spend the State's money. It' they were trained in home science they would be,able to fulfil their natural tailing in later life, instead of, as is done at present, living the life which men have been accustomed to for so long. But pjrhaps, as "Breadwinners First" suggests, the men may become accomplished housekeepers. It certainly would not be difficult for a man to be as efficient as many girls who regrli the married state after some years ||gc|jt in an office, .inhere |Jie topics are-r---money,' andanmsemonts. I speak tms experience after competing against time"tause%of unemployment" for a I saber of years.—Yours, etc.,
