A. AND P. ASSOCIATION

METHVEN. The monthly meeting of the committee of the Methven A. and P. Association was held on Monday evening. Mr £2. A. Bland, president, occupied the chair, and there wore also present: Messrs F. S. McDonald, Jno. Watson, W. F. Reynolds, C. Hale, G. A. Franks, Geo. Callaghan, S. Campbell, J. G. Ruddenklau, W. C. Spray, K. J. Low, M. Macale, It. C. Todhunter, Alex. Geddes, H. J. Freeman, and Jas. Carr. Mr F. S. McDonald reported on the state of the fences on tho Association's ground and pointed out that they were in a baa state. It was decided to interview the lessee and mako arrangements to have the' fences put in order immediately. A special prize of £2 2s was given by Mr D. M. Christie, and a vote of thanks was accorded him. The secretary of the Royal Agricultural Society wrote enclosing a list of judges and asked the Association to report on them. The secretary was instructed to prepare a list of local judges and report to next meeting. The secretary of the Ashburton A. and P. Association wioto in reference to the flock ewe conrp*tition, suggesting that the Methven Association contribute towards a county challenge cup for the best flock in the county. Similar suggestions had been made to other Associations. This suggestion, if agreed to, would come into force in 1931. It was decided to support the proposal and arrangement of details was left in the hands of the aub-committee. The secretary of the Canterbury A. and P. Association advieed that the annual ram and ewe fair would be held on March 20th and The secretary of the Timaru A. and P. Association advised that the annual ram fair would be held on March 28th and the annua! show on October 29th and 30th. Larraman was elected a member of the Association The secretary advised that the railway authorities had agreed to train arrangementa similar to those for last year. This was considered satisfactory, and the arrangements were confirmea.
