The Unemployment Bill, which will be introduced in the Assembly shortly, will be financed by the workers at the rate of threepence per week. The employers will pay a similar rate, the Government adding a subsidy equal to the total payment made by the employees. Professional workers, contractors, and apprentices are not included within the scope of the Bill. A worker must have paid into the fund for six months before becoming entitled to a sustenance allowance, which is limited to fifteen weeks, ranging from 25s per week in the case of married men to 15a in the case of single men.
