Children playing on the line at a railway depot at Hollow ay road, lit a fire under an empty 50-gallon drum. A terrific explosion shook the district. Three small boys were killed, and four were seriouslv injured. "It looked*as though somebody had flung a bomb/' said Thomas Chains, describing the scene when he rushed up to help. Eight bovs were stretched out, lying in a circle about the flaming drum. Two were dead, and parts of one s face were blown away. Another was lying 25 yards distant.
