RYAN BREAKS A RECORD. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAV.) FEILDING, January 4. N. Ryan and O. Griffiths, the Australian swimmers, appeared at a local carnival last night. Ryan set out to break the New Zealand record of llmin 44 2-3 sec for the halfmile, and covered the distance in llmin 33 2-3 sec. MISS MILLER'S FEAT. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) GISBORNE, January 5. At the Gisborne Swimming Club's carnival last night, Miss Kathleen Miller, of Wellington, broke Mies Pauline Hoeft's 150 yds women's; New Zealand record of lmin 52sec by covering the distance in lmin 50 2-ssec. CAMERON LEAVES FOR SYDNEY. I. W. Cuueran, ona of New Zealand's foremoat swimmers, left by the -Marama on Friday for Sydney, where he is taking up an appointment with a business firm.
