The Weather. After two days of extreme heat the weather changed suddenly early yesterday morning from north-west to a cold pou'-wester, with hea»y" rain. Wintry conditions prevailed for the greater, part of the day and caused a slump in holiday traffic. Harbour Light Theatre. There was a well-filled hou.se at the Harbour Light Theatre on Saturday night, when "The Mating Call," starring Thomas Meighan, and "Coney Island," a cumedyromance featuring Lois Wilson, were screened, together with a comedy and gazette. Ths complete programme will bo repeated to-night. To-morrow ''The Heart Thief," starring Lya De Putti, and "The California Mail." featuring Ken Maynavd, will be screened. The supporting programme includes a, comedy and topical budget. The Holidays. Tho extremely hot weather on Friday and Saturday caused large crowds to flock to the beaches about tho harbour. At Corsair Bay on both afternoons the water was crowded, the raft and the diving platform being filled with bathers sunning themselves between dips. The dressing accommodation at Diamond Harbour was also fully taken up, and bathing there was indulged in until late in the evening. Scout Camp. A parly of 16 Lyttelton Scouts and SeaScouts went into camp at Purau on Saturday. The Scoutmaster, Mr T. Perry, is in charge of the camp.
