Dressing Shed for St. James's Park. Mr J. Sturroc.k, secretary of St. James's Park Improvement Committee, has written the following letter to the City Council: It has come to our knowledge that the Reserves Committee of the City Council intend moving an old borer infested building from Richmond Park to St. James's Park. A. few of the residents arc of the opinion that such a building placed in the park would tend to mar its beauty, and would not be in keeping with the surroundings. Further the cost of removal and renovating would go a long way, if not completely covering the amount required for the erection of a new and more modern building. Would it be possible for the transfer of the building to be postponed until after the holidays, when the matter could be discussed at meetings of the societies interested in the park. The Town Clerk has replied that he has arranged for the removal to be held over in the meantime, and the matter would be reconsidered at the next meeting of the Reserves Committee. A Flag Enthusiast. Mr William Pa vis, Harewood road, is a keen flag enthusiast. His collection includes flags of nearly every country in the world, and a number of smaller ilags representing the letters of the alphabet. On all important occasions the large flagpole in his garden is gaily bedecked. The country to which the event applies is shown by the flag on the main. On New Year's Day the Rampant Lion, the emblem of Scotland, was on top, with the message "A Happy New Year" portrayed with smaller flags from the cross arm. Recently on a Chinese holiday, he had a Chinese flag on top. The flag was made of horizontal stripes of various colours. Apparently it did not satisfy the Chinese who saw it, for on New Year's Day he was presented with a large Chinese Republican flag, and a host of other presents from the Chinese mar-ket-gardeners of Harewood. Mr Davis very kindly lent flags for the Boy Scout and Wolf Club "camps at the bays. Boy Scouts.
