BOWLING.
ELLESMERE ASSOCIATION. The Ellesmere Bowling Association's rinks tournament opened on the Leeston Club's green on Thursday. Eight rinks entered, three each f -om the Dunsandel and Leeston Clubs, and two from Southbridge. The tournament was played on the sectional system, each section being composed of four rinks. In the first section, J. R. Howatson, T>. W. Hayes, J. H. Hampton, and T. H. Bennett (Southbridge) were victorious. In the second section, Ormandy's rink (Leeston) tied with Kime's rink (Dunsandel). A play-off resulted in a win for the latter, which comprised Brough, John Walker, E. J. Ohatterton, and G. W. Kime. The final will be played to-day. In the semi-final of the singles tournament, J. Hannah beat H. James, end will meet H. A. Brown in the final. RINKS FOR TO-DAY. HORNBY CLUB. v.
