WEDDINGS. OLARKSON—McSHERRY. , A wedding of considerable interest was solemnised at St. Patrick's Church, Napier, on Boxing Day, by the Rev. Father Fay, when Mary Rhoda (Mollie), twin daughter of Mr and Mrs D. McSherry, of Coote road, Napier, was married to William Paul Clarkson, of Christchurch. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a beautiful frock of ivory georgette and lace, which fell gracefully to her ankles, over a foundation of pale pink. Her lace veil was held in place by clusters of orange blos--som, and she carried a shower bouquet of ivory and pink flowers. The bridesmaids were the bride's twin sister, Elsie, and Miss Irene Williamson. They wore frocks of pale pink satin, the long skirts being composed of tiny frills of georgette, finished each with a large bow of the georgette fastened on one hip with a diamante clasp. Pink crinoline hats ', of the same shade were worn, and they carried bouquets of mauve and pink flowers. Little Miss Colleen McGrath, who acted as flower girl, wore a dainty frock of ivory crepe de chine, trimmed with briar roses, and carried a pink bouquet. Mr B. Rundle, of Wellington, was best man, and Mr C Taylor was groomsman. Mr and Mrs Clarkson will make their home fn Christchurch. CANADIAN GIRLS AS AIR PILOTS. (FROM OTTB SPECIAL BEPRESENTATIVE.) VANCOUVER, November 27. Since the first Canadian girl received her air pilot's license eighteen months ago, many others have qualified by tests, which include winter flying. The tests are said to be more severe than in the case of men—on account of the candidates being of the " frail sex.'' A very rigorous medical examination is one of them. Approximately a dozen lady pilots are now licensed in Vancouver, Winnipeg, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, and St. John, N.B. Although it is said women cannot handle big machines, Miss Burke of Calgary flies a 5-passenger aeroplane, preferring it to a smaller machine. When she went for her pilot's examination she obtained higher marks than the male candidates.
