CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT
The Culverden Gun Club held its Christmas shoot on Saturday. The day -was overcast with a easterly wind which made shooting very tricky. There was a record attendance of spectators and shooters. The prizes awarded by the local firms, stores, and supporteTS comprised Christmas cakes, ale, wine, chocolates, geese, etc. The best scores were. NINE . BIRD HATCH, OPEN. -w. Addis .. .. "HHUi A. In a six-bird sweep- eighteen shooters faced the mark. G. Mockett. with a possible, took first money, and A. Munro, M. Anderson, D. Davison, D. Munro, M. Bethell. E. Burrows, L. Dalzell, and W. Monro, with five breaks each, divided A sweep for all who had not won a prize during the afternoon resulted in u tie with M. Bethell and W. Munro, W. Munro winning in the fifth round. A trophy presented by Hammond and Turner for'best unplaced in matches one and three, was won by E. Burrows. E. Burrows also winning the trophy for the best unplaced tor the afternoon. A trophy for the best lady shooter was won by Mrs M. Bethell. A trophy for lowest score for the day was won by P. Draper. A trophy for the youngest competitor was won by F. Henshaw. After partaking of afternoon tea. which was supplied by the ladies, Mr Bethell. president of the club, presented the prize':.
