The Public Prosecutor protested against the acquittal of Maria Casaibai, who declared that her husband was a drunkard, who ill-treated his family and who subsequently committed suicide. She withdrew her previous confession. but was found guilty of manslaughter and was sentenced to fifteen years' imprisonment. She successfully appealed against the sentence. fA cable message from Budapest on December 11th stated that the trial of 60 peasant women for alleged murder of their husbands had commenced.
