NEW BRIGHTON CARNIVAL.

A glorious day in the brilliant sunshine and a bracing sea breeze favoured the third day and evening of the New Brighton Carnival on Saturday. Large crowds were present both during the dav and evening and the several side-shows and other attractions were well patronised. During the afternoon a number cf aquatic events were held by the New Brighton Surf Club and attracted large numbers of onlookers. Results: March Past —New Brighton (A) team 1. Four Men Alarm Event—Won by the Sumner team, who also won the competition in resuscitation. The other teams competing were New Brighton A and B. North Beach, and Maranui (Wellington). The water conditions were not too favourable for the event, there being a heavy surf, with a strong set to the south and considerable undertow. C. Kite was the instructor of the winning team. During the evening the New Brighton Municipal Band contributed a programme of popular airs. To-day the amateur athletic events, postponed from Thursday, wiD be run off.
