Christmas Fair. The Christmas Fair in connexion with St. Silas's Church was most successful, the sum of £25 being raised. In declaring the fair open, Mr B. Jones congratulated the stallholders on the splendid display, a»d wished them every success in their effort. The arrival of Father Christmas during the afternoon caused great amusement among the children. The following were the stallholders— Produce: Messrs Leadbetter and Harris; odds and ends: Mesdames Hayman, Vigeurs, and Ti Woods; sweets: Mrs G. AUington and Misses Allington; sewing: Mesdames Englefield and Dixon; cakes: Mrs L. Lavender, and Misses Lavender and Johnston; afternoon tea: Mesdames Leadbetter, Manhart, Barnes, and Miss Higham; ice-cream and soft drinks: Messrs H. Peers and B. Price. Waimairi Terrain Club. Several ladder matches have taken place at the Waimairi courts during the week, Miss N. Williamson defeated Miss G. Dalley 6-4 for second place, but went down 6-3 against Miss Hookham for first player. Miss M. M. Williamson is now fourth player, having defeated Miss F. Hill. W. Hadley challenged H. Tillman for first place, but was defeated, 9-6. J. Thorn defeated S. Roberts 9-6 and now becomes third player. The two miniature shields given by Mr L. B. Hart were presented at the courts last Saturday to the winners, Miss X. Williamson and Colin Carr. Christmas Services. Large congregations attended the Christmas services at St. James' Church, Harewood, and St. Paul's Papanui. Both churches were beautifully decorated, and the services were conducted by the Eev. W. H. OrbelL St. Giles. The election of officers for the Boys' Bible Class of St. Giles's Presbyterian Church resulted as follows. The position of leader rendered vacant through the appointment of Mr L. B. Quartermain, M.A., to Victoria College was not filled. Mr E. Calder was appointed sub-leader, Mr Alan Charlesworth, secretarv, and Mr Alan McAlister treasurer; the other members of the committee are: Messrs W. K. Mcllroy, E. Eitchie. On Sunday morning the final meeting of the vear was held, and devoted to Christmas study. The classes will not resume until February. i' Domains Board. The Papanui Domains BoaTd met last Fridav in the Waimairi Council Chambers, Mr F. W. Sisson presiding. Several plans were received for the new pavilion, but no decision was made. Personal. Th* Eev. J. Miller has been ill, and has not been able to take the services for two weeks. During the last two days his health has improved. A presentation was made to Mr J. Barnes recently, in recognition of his services as organist at St. Silas s Church. .. Mrs J. Hoffman and her son, Marcus, of Svdnev, and formerly of Belvue avenue/are here on a holiday and are the guest* of Mts A. E. Ives, St. John street. Mrs H. Tillman (St. James ajenue), accompanied by her sister, Miss D. Baplev, left on Thursday for a holiday to Auckland and Botorua,
