General situation—The cydoue referred to on Saturday crossed the southern portion of the Dominion yesterday. There has been a moderate rise of pressure in Tasmania. Present indications are for south-east winds fo south-west in the far south, elsewhere north to west, moderate to strong, and in places of gale force. Seas (New Zealand waters): Ilathcr rough to rough on the West Coast and about Cook and Foveaux Straits, smooth to moderate elsewhere in coastal waters, but rough off shore. Tasman Sea; i'resh to strong north to west winds, and rather rough to rough seas in the western Tasman. Later, winds backing to southwest. Weather dull, misty, and unsettled, with rain almost generally, and heavy falls in western and southern districts. Temperature cool in the south, elsewhere mild.
