ACCIDENT TO EXPRESS.
SIXTEEN PASSENGERS INJURED. (UTITBD FBES3 ASSOCIATION—ST ELECTRIC TELEGBAPH —COPYXIGHT.) (Received December 27th, 7.25 p.m.) MELBOURNE, December 27. The Adelaide express met with an •ccfdent this morning near Callington. One of the passenger coaches left the rails at a soft spot, and the mail van, which was nest to the engine, was ■eriouslv damaged. Sixteen passengers were injured, but none seriously. Hearv rain apparently caused the permanent way to. sink under the weignt of the train. STORM WATER DAMAGES A FILLING. (Received December 27th, 11.55 p.m.) ADELAIDE, December 27. The express derailed fifteen miles on the Adelaide side of the Murray bridge.
