•> CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP WON BY B. V. WRIGHT. When play was resumed yesterday nor'-west conditions prevailed, and this made play difficult. The early starters in the afternoon had the worst of it and met the full force of the gale. Many came back to the club Tiouse without returning cards. The Christchurch Amateur Championship, two rounds of stroke play, was plaved and was won by the Timaru player, B. V. Wright, the South Canterbury champion, with an aggregate of 150. , The winner's afternoon round of /4 in the worst of the gale was very meritorious. E. M. Macfarlane, the local club champion, was second with an aggregate of 152. His 75 round was also excellent. The morning stroke handicap was won bv the Avondale player, O. L. Anderson, with a net 69 and the afternoon stroke handicap also went to Avondale : Mrs Early and Miss Shand were equal and will play off.

To-day is the concluding day of the tournament. There will be a bogey match in the morning and the final event is a Canadian foursome m the afternoon.
