It is 35 years since they were last in the northern city. Mr and Mrs C. H. Clibborn and family are spending the holidays at Charteria Bay. The Rev. J. Burns, M.A., of Knox Church, Dunedin, and Mrs Burns will be the guests of Mrs Robert Malcolm, Park terrace, over the week-end. Mr Burns is to occupy the pulpit of St. Paid's Church on Sunday. Professor and Mrs J. E. L. Cull and their little daughter are the guests of Mr and Mrs W. H. Clark, Bealey avenue. Professor Cull has recently been appointed to the Chair of Civil Engineering at Canterbury College. Mrs William Nicholls, who recently returned from a visit to England, is leaving to-day for Central Otago. The twenty-first birthday of Irene Muriel, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. H. Weeber, was celebrated at the Marshland Hall on Wednesday evening. Mrs Weeber wore a black coat-frock relieved with fawn. The toast of the guest of the evening was proposed by Mr L. Mooney, and that of the parents by Mr H. McMillan. Mr Weeber presented his daughter with a gold key. The tables were decorated with mauve, pink, and cream sweet peas. The music for the dancing was supplied by Mr Stan. Griffen's Orchestra, and Mr J.
