DRUNKEN MOTORISTS.
+ (PRESS ASSOCIATION TEtEORAM.) WELLINGTON, December 27. The season's festivities cost two more drivers their licenses for twelve months to-day. George Inglis, a marine engineer, was one, and he was also fined £lO. Alfred G. Y. Baxter was the other. He was fined £2O. Baxter's condition was discovered as a result of his colliding with another car. The Justices on the Bench remarked, on the plea that some consideration should be extended to the season, that drink and motoring should not go together. Drivers should leave it alone. CASUAL WORKERS. (PRESS A.SBOCIATIOH TELEGKAM.) WELLINGTON, December 27. Mr Walter Naah, M.P., has received the following telegram from the Hon. Mr Forbes: "I am sorry to hear of the dismissal of men from the railway workshops, which, I understand, was owing to the work they were engaged on being finished. I have communicated with the Unemployment Officer asking him to see if further work can be found."
