Present indications are for strong westerly winds to gales decreasing gradually and backing in places temporarily to south-west: seas rough on all the west coast and in oft shore waters south of East Cape, moderate north of East Cape; strong west to south-west winds and rough seas in the eastern Tasman, moderating gradually; the weather changeable, squally and unsettled, some rain in
