NAVAL PROBLEMS.
MEDITERRANEAN PACT. FRENCH GOVERNMENT'S SUGGESTION. (rSTTEB FRESS ASSOCIATION—BT ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH —COFTBIGHT.) (Received December 27th, S.oo p.m.) PARIS, December -6. The text of the French Government's memorandum communicated to the Five Powers makes reference to the imporrance of sea communications to both Great Britain and France. It then asks:—ls it possible for the Mediterranean Powers to arrive at an agreement of mutual guarantees of nonaggression, in which other Powers not represented at the Naval Conference, notably Spain, would be represented? THE NAVAL CONFERENCE. BRITISH PRIME MINISTER PREPARING. (Received December 27th, 7 p.m.) LONDON, December 26. A message from Elgin says that the Prime Minister, Mr Ramsay MacDonald, had stated that he will devote all his mornings to work in connexion with the Naval Conference during his stav at Lossiemouth. The family was delighted with a telegram sent by Mr W. Mackenzie King, Prime Minister of Canada, announcing that a mountain had been named after Miss Ishbel Mac Donald.
