In record time they have given us sufficient of our building to open in time for the Christmas trade, and to one and all we cordially say, "Thank you." Hay's Message to the Christchurch Public Shopping Attractions for Christmas Shoppers at Hay's To-morrow. What we ask of you in our Reduce Prices* The opening of HAY'S LIMITED tomorrow marks the beginning of a new enterprise that wo confidently believe will make an instant appeal to the public of Christchurch. HAY'S LIMITED is a business that will be conducted on lodcrn lines entirely different from the ordinary typo of Drapery and Clothing Store. We have deliberately set oursehes the ta.«k of eliminating many of the usual overhead expenses incurred in a business, and the savings thus made enable us to offer standard lines of Drapery and Clothing goods at prices substantially below the usual. We will do our part by working on the lowest possible margin of profit, but there must also be a willingness on the part of the Public to forego some of the services which they at present receive at other stores, and which, in the lonjj run, are really added to the prices of the goods. At HAY'S there are no "frills.*' There has been no unnecessary expense in our building. It is plain but dignified, and amply large enough for our requirements. There are no expensive fitments, and there is an entire absence of anything in the nature of luxuries. Of course, the propose to conduct will have little appeal t those to whom money i» not a consideration: to such there are first-class stores in the City able to give a better service than we can offer. We are convinced, however, lion of the public to whom the cutting down of Drapery and Clothing expenses is a matter of real importance, and it is because we believe our simple methods of trading—which really do cut down prices—will appeal 1o this section of the community, that wc have dared to launch our big 1. TO "LARGELY SERVE *> YOURSELF. Everything at HAY'S will be on display, and clearly ticketed. You are absolutely free to wander round the counters and buy only if you see something that you want. 2. NOT TO EXPECT US TO CABBY WIDE RANGES OF GOODS. We will stiock only quick-sellLng, popular lines, as it is only by a large and quick turnover of stock that we can hope to keep our prices at uniformly low levels. We will set a good standard of quality. At HAY'S you will not find cheap goods that we know will not give you, nor us, satisfaction. Nor will you find the very expensive kind.
