AUSTRALIAN SHARE MARKET.

ADVERSE EFFECT OF POLITICAL CRISIS. (USITRD PRESS ' MtSOOXiTIOjr— BY SMECTSIO TBLB3BA7H COFYRIOHT.) SYDNEY, September 16. The defeat of the Federal Government on the arbitration proposals has had an immediate adverse effect on the share markets, but the decline is not serious, and prices already display a steadier tone, though a sustained recovery is hardly to be expected until disquieting General Election conditions end. The activity of the past few weeks has been remarkable in view of the prevailing uncertainty. The new season's wool sales show a decline in value of about 5 per cent., compared with last season's closing rates. Wools sold thus far are largely from the dry areas, and are rather sandier and dustier than usual. Trading conditions generally are reported dull.—Australian Press Association.
