The Egypt Exploration Society has dug up a large number of tools, ornaments, weights, and other objects, among them a child's toy, described as thousands of years old. It is a little chariot drawn by monkeys, and monkeys are the passengers. The telephone service from the fast trains between Berlin and Hamburg, the first instituted anywhere in the world, has now been extended, so that connexions may be established between the train and any plaee in Germany.
