The Miners' Federation Executive yesterday decided to make a farther strong appeal to the owners' organisation the Mining Association, for a joint meeting to discuss the problems of the industry and the question of a National agreement. The first request waa refused. „ Should &e owners again refuse, It is stated, the Government may eaU the two sides together in anticripatloß of legislation which is shortly to be introduced for the mining industry.

The Central Marketing Committee of ooal-owners yesterday accepted, in ptinoiple, a plan for the coordination of district marketing schemes, which aim at regulating the ootpnt and controlling prices.
