Eight charges of theft of goods, including tools, overcoats, clocks, and other articles of a total value of £l9 Ha were admitted in the Magistrate's Court by a labourer, Arthur Victor Jones Accused stated that he had committed the offences because he was hard up. Two offences had been committed from churches while services were in progress. "On several occa"ion9 i could have taken more than I did but I only took enough to keep me _oing," said accused from the dock. He was sentenced to three months on each charge, the sentences to be eoncurrent.
