The auxiliary schooner Acielle was driven ashore and wrecked near Smoky Cape Lighthouse during the gale. The orew had a narrow escape, jumping overboard and swimming to the beach. The large launch Eclipse is a total wreck at Seal Rocks. —Australian Press Association.
