GLENMARK HOMESTEAD SOLD.
On Saturday morning, Dalgety and Company, Ltd., sold by auction the Glenmnrk homestead, Waipara, at £l7 5s an acre, the total price being £5338 17s 6d. to Mr George Hare, of "Waipara. The property is the last of the famous Glenmnrk estate, which was one of the original selections of Messrs [ft>rniode and Moore when Mr G. H. Moore came to the Dominion from Tasmania. Bventuallv Mr Moore purchased the whole of the lands from Waipara to Horsley Downs, and extending to Scargill. and down to the Omihi valley Parts were cut off from timo to time from 1887, and the balance of the block was sold to the Government in 1914-15. Mr T. H. Moore, who inherited the property from bis uncle. Mr G. B. Moore, rotained the 'loinestend b'oeK raatulv from -.no?-yes of sentiment. Mr T. H. Moore died some time ago, and his son came into possession. The latter is residing in the Isle of Man. and tints the property oame on to the market. The block consists of 42 acres of heavy cropping land. 29 acres of heavy cittle swamp, 80 acres in downs, about 75 acres in plantations and gardens, and the balance'in pasture. The conditions of sale were ten per cent, dokvn, and the balance on possession, oil October 7th. There was an attendance of about thirty at the sale and bidding started at £ls per acre, rising to £l6. £l6 10s, £l6 15s. £l7. and £l7 ss, at which figure Mr Hare purchased.
