SALVATION ARMY.
LEGAL ACTION STILL UNSETTLED. TRANSFER OF LATE GENERAISS SUPPORTERS. (UXITKD MS3B ASSOOATIOB —XI BUCSSXC tblbohaph -oorauß.) (Beeeived September Btli, 5.5 pan.) LONDON, September 7Mystery surrounds Commander Mary Booth's return from Germany. The official explanation is that Commander Mary Booth is one of several officiary who are being moved from one territory command to another. * The "Daily Chronicle" explains that when the late General Bramwell Booth was deposed, a number of officers approached the sick General. His adviee was '' Stick to your post and trust in God." Since then Commissioner Catherine Booth has carried on loyally as head of the women 'b work, but several prominent supporters of the late General were transferred to distant appointments. Thus General Bramwell Booth's sister, Commissioner Booth Hellberg, who is aged 63, was told to go to Sonth America. Meanwhile, the legal proceedings initiated by the late General are still unsettled. Until the Courts decide whether the action of the High Council iB legal, all deeds connected with the Salvation Army are being countersigned by the executors of his will, who are Mrs Booth, Commissioner Catherine Booth, and the late General's solicitors. If the Courts decide that the High Council acted ultra vires, the sealed envelope will be opened and the nominee, who is understood to be Commissioner Catherine Booth, will be appointed. The legal decision eannot be made before the end of October.—Ac straimi Press Association.
