WELL-KNOWN SONG WRITER. (UNITES PRESS ASSOCIATION —BT ELICTItIC TELE 33APH —COPYRIGHT.) (Received September Bth, 11 p.m.) LONDON, September 7. The death has occurred of MiFrederic Edward Weatherly, the songwriter, aged 81 years. —Australian Press Association. [Mr Weatherly was born in 1848, and educated at Brase.nose College, Oxford. He became a barrister in 1877. His songs included such well-known numbers as "Nancy Lee," "Midshipmite,'' "Polly," "They All Love Jack," "The Old Brigade," "Up From Somerset," "The Blue Dragoons," "The Grenadier," "Friend o' Mine," "Danny Boy," "Roses of Picardy," and many others. He celebrated his jubilee as a song writer in 1919.]
