During the early part of the afternoon & ffu&ty nor'-wester made the shooting difficult, but conditions improved later. The majority of the birds were strong and fast. The match wis one of 12 birds off '•(.»: i>. the first prize being a gold and diamond medal, valued At £5 ss, provided by the club, the second a trophy valued at Jt3 Bs. given by the secretary. Mr H. D. Bettgar, and the third 8 trophy valued »»t £1 10s. given by Mr R. J. Taylor, jun. There were 24 con petitors, of whom -1 subscribed to an optional s>weet» of ]'>s.. The following shot all their birds, divided the sweep, and shot off for th* championship:—H. Orennell. A. Anderson. P. Trnseott, G. A. Bruore, and E. F. Stead. In the shoot-oft' Anderson ruisst'd his first bird, Hrucre and Stead dropped out in the third round, and Orennell misled bis fourth bird, leaving the winner of the championship.
