A rather vigorous depression ci the westerly type is advancing across the Ta.sman Sea. Pressure is r'laing over ea&tera Australia. Present indications are for moderate to strong northerly winds generally and reaching gale force in placies; a change te soath-weeterlie* setting in from the •outh after " about 24 hours and extending gradually northwards; seas rough in Cook Strait and on tie West Coast, moderate elsewhere in coastal waters; north to north-west winds in the eastern Tasman, moderate to strong generally and at times of gale force, backing to south-west after- about 24 houm, eeas arether rough to rough; the _ weather cloudy and unsettled with - Tain fairly general, but more especially in districts with a westerly aspect, where thero will be some heavy falls, and thunder in places; temperatures still mild, but a cold change setting in from the south after about 21 hours.
