GOLF.

CHRISTCHURCH LADIES' CLUB. CHAMPIONSHIP WON BY MISS BEADEL. The final of the Christchurch Ladies' Club championship, over 36 holes, between Miss Beadei, the holder, and Miss Chrystall, was played at Shirley yesterday under very unpleasant conditions. Miss Beadei, playing the steadier golf, always held her opponent safe. Only once in the match was Miss Chrystall up and that was at the seventh. A feature of the game was the excellent driving of both players, especially against the wind. Their drives would shame many men players. Mis 3 Beadei was steadier with her second shots and m her approach work, and to this she owes her win. On many occasions Miss Chrystall appeared to force her second shots, adding to her score by indifferent resu.ts. Miss Beadei has accomplished the "hat trick' in winning in three successive years, and further she won in 1923-1925, thereby establishing a record that will be hard to improve. Both players began steadily and the match was square at the third hole, but Miss Beadei drew first blood at the fourth by making the better approach and winning in five. She lost the lead at the sixth by missing a putt. Miss Chrystall won the seventh in a perfect birdie three and this was the only time she was one up in the match. Miss Chrystall missed a putt at the eighth and Miss Beadei squared after a bad tee shot at the ninth An excellent recovery gave Miss Chrystall a half. Miss Beadei won the tenth in five and the eleventh also in five. Miss Chrystall got one back at the twelfth with a steady four, and squared at the thirteenth (Old Nick), lipping the hole for a two. At the fourteenth Miss Chrystall had the misfortune to incur a penalty stroke, her ball moving, and lost this hole. No doubt this unnerved her at the fifteenth, where she took five to Mies Beadel's four. Miss Beadei was now two up and there was no change at the eighteenth. Continuing after lunch, Miss Beadei added the next two holes in five each. A perfect three at the 21st gave Misß Chrystall a win. The 32nd and 23rd were both halved in s's. Miss Chrystall reduced the margin at the 24tb by better approaching The 25th and 26th were halved in four and five respectively, and at the 27th there was a margin of only one in Miss Beadel's favour, which, however, she increased to two at the 28th by a perfect brassie shot to the green, while her opponent was wide with her third. The hole was won in five. The 29th was halved in five and a steady four at the 30th gave Mies Beadei a win. Miss Chrystall played the 81st (Old Nick), as she did in the morning, and won in three. There was no change at the 32nd, but at the 33rd, Miss Beadei put the match in safe keeping by winning in three, and becoming dormy. Both went for long seconds at the 34th and both struck trouble, from which Mies Beadeihad the easier recovery to make Mies Chrystall, after taking three shots in a bunker and two more to the green than her opponent, surrendered. Miss Beadei won, four up and two to play.
