News has been received by the Union Company that the Ngatoro left Port Kembla at 10 p.m. on Thursday for Castlecliff, where she is due to-morrow. The vessel will later proceed to Westport to load for Napier and Wellington. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's liner Corinthic is to leave London on September 11th for Wellington and Auckland. The vessel is due at Wellington on October 21st. The Canadian Conqueror left Dunedin on Saturday for Timaru and Wellington. The vessel is due at Wellington to-morrow to load for New York, Boston, and Montreal. She will clear' Wellington to-morrow for Anckland, and is to sail finally from Auckland on August 12th. The A. and A. Line chartered steamer Pakipaki sailed from New York last Tuesday with general cargo to discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin. The vessel is due at Auckland on September 3rd. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's steamer Tairoa _is to sail from Liverpool on August 31st with general cargo to put out at Auckland, Wellington. Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The vessel is due at Auckland on October 6th. The Federal Company advise that the C«.mberland arrived at Bluff at 11 a.m. on Friday from Port Chalmers to complete discharge, and to commence loading. The' vessel is to clear Bluff M-morrow for Lyttelton, Welling, ton, _ Napier, Gisborne, and Anckland. She is timed to sail finally from Auckland on August 28rd for London, Avonmouth, Glasgow, and Liverpool, via Panama and Curacao. The scow Portland, which has been l3id up alongside the Fox ton wharf for many months, is being refitted preparatory to again being put into commission. A crew recently arrived from Wellington, and is engaged in getting the vessel shipshape. It is understood that the-Portland has changed hands, and that her future base of operations will be Nelson. A radio message received by the Marine Department at midnight on Friday from the Maheno, which left Auckland on Friday for Sydney, states that the North Cape light is out of order. It was not known whether the light was out or merely functioning incorrectly. The Department is endeavouring to secure a more definite report, and when further information is received steps will be taken to put the light in order.

DISPUTE SETTLED. The trouble between the Seamen's Union and the Cooks' and Stewards' Union regarding the' Westport Coal Company's steamer Canopus was settled yesterday. Mr T. Walsh, president of the Seamen's Federation, was in Lyttelton yesterday, and as a result of a conference between the parties it was arranged with the employers that the whole o* the previous crew and providore staff should be signed on. The Canopus sailed in the afternoon for Westport.
