SYDNEY GANG WARFARE.
MAN SHOT DEAD. (POTTED PRESS ASSOCIATIOK—BT Bt-ECTEIC TELEGRAPH—COPTBIGHT.) SYDNEY, July 18. The shooting of four men early this morning at Maroubra, the police believe, is a continuation of gang warfare bv members of the underworld. "George Gaffney was shot right through the body and died later. Two others were treated in hospital, but refuse to give an account of the affray. The police state that four or five men attacked a house, but one of the defenders used an Army service rifle with deadly effect. . A man named James Devme has been arrested and charged with the murder of Gaffney.—Australian Press Association.
