CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING HELD. A successful year's operations was disclosed in the annual report of the Christehureh Motor Club, whose annual meeting was held on Wednesday evening, Mr H. Pollock presiding. The annual report stated that unfavourable weather conditions had spoilt many of the events, and the advent of the dirt-track racing had robbed the club of some of its prominent competitors. Through the efforts of the club, however, motor-cyclists had been provided with both grass and cinder track racng. The dirt-track speedway had bec'n primarily the idea of the club, and the committee had carried out a great deal of work with the idea of making a club speedway. The financial end. however, had proved too much for the club. Finally an individual member had financed the scheme, and the company was formed. The company wa= largely composed of

elub members and controlled by them. Competitions throughout the year had been well supported. Collection* had been taken up at beach events for Injured member*. Tie sum of £6 7» lid had been collected. Complaint had been made that the starting pott in the flying mile had been too f.r up the beach. Thin, however, was a deliberate action on the part of the committee. The action had prevented overcrowding of spectators, whieh had so hindered events during previous seasons. Receipts totalled £69 lis IM, and expenditure £9B 5s 7± Ithongh a deficit was shown, incorporation feet had been paid off, and outstanding subscriptions for the 1929-30 year had not been taken into consideration.
