MKETLNG OF EXECUTIVE. At the fortnightly meeting of **• Executive Committee of the 8.8.A., ta* following were present:—Mumiis Hayden (chairman), Cuddon, Smith, Holms*, Drummond, Boundy, Marshall, Chisuall, Fleck, Leadley, Dabown, Earners**, and the secretary. A letter waa received from the D*acoin 8.8.A. suggesting that it might, be possible to arrange to hold a competition between the Dunedin and Christehureb Associations, a miniature rift* shoot in the afternoon and billiards ia the evening, on a date to be arranged, and an endeavour would be made far the Dunedin team to visit Christehureh if the necessary arrangements coafci be made. The letter waa referred to the Rifle Club and Billiards Committees for a report. The treasurer submitted a report showing receipt* for three month* ended June 30th. In view of the decreased receipts from the billiard* roe** and buffet it waa decided, to act wp a special committee, consisting of the president, vice-president, and the chairmen of the various sub-committees to go fully into the matter and t« bring down a report. The Waimakariri River Trust wrtU making application for a grant of £SM for the relief of unemployment, sabject to a subsidy ©f £ for £. In view of the favourable impresswa created by a statement of the Engiaeer to the Trust that the employment of men em this relief work would probably lead to permanent employment ef the good workers, it was decided to sake ta* grant. The report of the BeaereJcax Caaamittee showed that 28 eases had bass dealt with during the previous fare weeks. It was decided to take steps to ass up a ladies' committee with a view to their investigating eases that cease before the Benevolent Committee.
