TWO SUBMARINE UPHEAVALS.

REPORTED IN TASMAN SEA. (UICITXD PBSSS ASSOCIATION —BY ELBCTBIC TEI.EG3APH—COPYRIGHT.) SYDNEY, July 11. When midway between Cape Maria van Diemen and Sydney, the steamer Aelybryn passed close to two submarine upheavals. Captain Stevenson said that last Sunday, without warning, a great surge of water rose out of the sea and gradually assumed a concave formation, which reached a height of about 30 feet before settling again. He estimated that the width of the water was between 15 and 2o feet. A quarter of an hour later a second upheaval occurred in the same position. No sensation was felt aboard the ship. Captain Stevenson said that there must have been a terrific upheaval at the bottom of the sea. Australian Press Association.
