ENGINEER'S WIFE BUYS CAR. Mrs Mulroy, of New York, u the wife of Lieutenant Thomas Mulroy, Chief Engineer of the Byrd Antarctic Expedition, and having decided to bay a new car. she made a tonr of the city, and decided which car «he roost longed to possess. While attracted by its beauty, she realised that appearance is not everything, particularly since she had an engineer hutband to advise her on the other essentials of a good car. Therefore, the sent the following radio message to the Ice Harrier in the Ross Sea, 10,000 miles away : "Lieut. Thomas Mulroy, Byrd Antarctic Expedition.- Am planning on bovine a car Have looked at them nil and think Hnpp most beautiful on market. Is it O Kay m»">h*nWlly and shall I huy itP Love.—Ruth." Promptly the answer came back • "By all means buy tbe Happ; wonderful motor and chassis. Love—T^tn." That is about the most bt7arre domestic consultation ever held on the subject of motor-cars.
