IN THE MATTER of a proposed Bill oi Act intituled "THE BOROUGH OF LYTTELTON CORPORATION ENAB' LING ACT 1929." PURSUANT to the Standing Orders of the House of Representatives relating to Local Bills, the Council of the Borough of Lyttelton HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that application will be made to the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled at its present session for leave t<i introduce a Bill intituled "The Borough of Lyttelton Corporation Enabling Act 1929." THE OBJECTS of the proposed Bill are to authorise and enable the Corporation ol the Borough of Lyttelton with the consent oi the Governor-General in Council to take ovei and declare to be Public Streets certain streets which may not comply with- tht provisions of ' 'The Municipal Corporation! Act 1920" and to remove certain restrictions from reserves Numbered 34 and 6S and parts reserves Numbered 35 and of situated in the Borough of Lyttelton and tc validate certain leases granted by the said Corporation over parts of the said Reserves The said objects are to be attained by th« following provisions:— 1. THAT the Borough Council may witl the consent of the Governor-General ii Council take over and declare any streei whether now existing or hereafter to be laic out within the Borough to be a public streei notwithstanding that the same may be oi less width than the width prescribed by "The Municipal Corporations Act 1920." 2. THAT all those parcels of land described in the schedule to the said Bill shall vesl in the Mavor Councillors and Burgesses o) the Borough of Lyttelton freed and discharged from the trusts and restrictions subject tc which the said lands are now held as aforesaid. 3. THAT all leases of any part or parts ol the said Reserves Numbered 34 and 68 here tofore granted by the Borough Council shall for all purposes be deemed to have been lawfully issued in the same manner as ii they had been issued subsequent to the passing of this proposed Bill. , A copy of the proposed Bill antf plans oi the lands affected are deposited in th< Magistrate's Court at Lyttelton, where they lie open to public inspection.
