PIER AND BATHS.
NEW BRIGHTON PROPOSAL. A meeting of representative* of the New Brighton Borough Council, Central Surf Club, South Brighton Progress League, South Brighton Surf Club, and the New Brighton Greater Progress Association was held la*t n 'ght in the Council Chambers for the purpose of discusgirtz the proposal of the Mayor (Mr J. H. Shaw) to purchase the pier, and establish salt-water swimming batns. After the plans of the proposed baths had been inspected and the suggested alterations to the pier, in view of Purchase, had been thoroughly discussed. it was resolved, on the motion of Cr. J. s Ainsworth, seconded by ,*ir t-'. Cooper, "That the delegates present f Fe j' n vour the scheme as outi l iT . keing proceeded with, and that the Mayor be invited to address the various organisations for the purpose of explaining the proposal."
