REPORT ON WORSTED INDUSTRY.
(BBtTISB OWICIAI WIRXiESS.) LONDON, July 9. The President of the Board of Trade, Mr William Graham, said in the House of Commons regarding the report of the Safeguarding Committee on the Woollen and Worsted Industry, that the Government did not consider that it called for any action by them. It the House desired an opportunity would be provided for discussing the report. He added that it would be very easy to prove that the great majority of the members of the Trade Unions in the area concerned were against this proposal. NO COMMUNICATION WITH CANADA. (Eeceived July 10th, 11.30 p.m.) OTTAWA, July 9. In view of Mr Snowden's statement that communications were being sent to various Dominions, the Canadian Government states it has not received any communication asking whether it would be possible to hold an Imperial Economic Conference. —Australian Press Association.
