LINWOOD AVENUE SCHOOL.

Tha monthly meeting of the Linwood avenue School Committee was held on Monday, Mr L. E. Vernazoni presiding. The headmaster's report showed a roll number of 412, this being more than double the number of scholars the school opened with about fifteen months ago. It was decided to support the Education Board's appeal to the Minister for Education for the immediate construction of the third primary department class-room. Appreciation was expressed of the new rooms about to be occupied. Mr J. B. Ives was r.ppointed to the committee in place of Mr R. Burgess, who resigned owing to pressure of business. The Education Board notified that Mr R. H. Korth had been appointed assistant master. and would commence his duties on August Int. The delegates to the School Committees' Association were instructed to record their votes against the granting of deaUl services to private schools until State suhoo.s were adequate!* equipped. Correspondence M-aa received from Mr Buckett. who expressed his willineness to Btase a concert for the school funds. The offer was accepted.
